A Flamboyance of Flamingos and Other Fun Animal Group Names
A group of flamingos is called a "flamboyance."

It’s a fitting name, too. Picture dozens of bright pink birds strutting and stretching their long necks under the sun. It looks like a feathered fashion show!
Surprisingly, many animals have group names that are just as colorful — and sometimes downright silly. Here’s a list of 15 fun ones to share with kids (or impress at your next trivia night):
A parade of elephants
A murder of crows
A bloat of hippos
A prickle of porcupines
A smack of jellyfish
A crash of rhinos
A tower of giraffes
A kaleidoscope of butterflies
An army of caterpillars
A dazzle of zebras
A business of ferrets
A pandemonium of parrots
A troop of kangaroos
A gulp of swallows
A scurry of squirrels
And here’s a fun twist: flamingos aren’t born pink — their color comes from eating shrimp and algae. Without it, they'd be closer to gray!
